15 March 2023; Kampala, Uganda – Standard Chartered Bank Uganda has today announced its sponsorship of the Uganda Golf club, The Lady Captain’s prize tournament set to be held at the prestigious Uganda Golf Club.
The golf tournament is expected to attract over 200 golfers and as the Bank continues to celebrate women during the ‘Women’s month’, the bank is making a contribution of Ugx 20 million towards the organization of this amazing event.
The golf tournament is expected to attract participants from across the country and will provide an opportunity for golf enthusiasts to compete in a friendly and competitive environment. The event is set to take place on the 18th March 2023 and is expected to be one of the most exciting golfing events of the year.
Standard Chartered Bank has a long history of supporting sports initiatives like football, marathons, basketball and the sponsorship of this golf tournament is a testament to its dedication to promoting sports and healthy living in Uganda. The sponsorship also underscores the Bank’s commitment to support the inclusion and empowering of women especially in sports as it encourages their love for the sport of golf during this Women’s month.
Speaking about the sponsorship Sanjay Rughani, CEO Standard Chartered Bank Uganda while handing over the donation said:

This tournament is an annual event that brings together women golfers from across the country and this year we have different categories of players, ladies, men, seniors and some Junior golfers. We are ready to host all participants especially the women as we celebrate this women’s month.”
