The President of the Republic of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has proposed that the Government should consider supporting sports heroes who retire by offering them bursaries to study so that they are able to get employment in other professional disciplines they desire or get employment with the Government.
The President’s statement was made at a function held in Statehouse-Entebbe on Thursday evening to recognize former Uganda Cranes Captain Dennis Onyango.
‘At 35, a sportsman can still serve the country for another 20 years if deployed in civil service or given bursaries to train in higher institutions of learning in a discipline of their choice’ said President Museveni.

Southampton played 80 minutes at a numerical disadvantage following Jannik Vestergaard's 10th-minute red card for denying Jamie Vardy a goalscoring opportunity.
James Maddison curled the resulting free-kick narrowly wide as Leicester looked to capitalise.

James Ward-Prowse fired Saints 1-0 ahead with a 61st-minute penalty after Kelechi Iheanacho had handled.
Leicester were back on level terms just eight minutes later through Jonny Evans' close-range header from Ihe...

Aymeric Laporte was City’s hero, heading home from Kevin De Bruyne’s free-kick in the 82nd minute to give Pep Guardiola’s side a thoroughly deserved victory, which sees us move level with Liverpool as the most successful side the competition’s history.
City rose to the occasion at Wembley Stadium, where the most surprising aspect of the contest was that it took so long for a goal to come.
The defending champions were in total control from the first minute and but for some heroic last ditch defending, would have been out of sight at half time.
Eric Dier and Toby Alderweireld both made goal saving blocks to deny Raheem Sterling and Phil Foden, as Spurs were forced to withstand wave after wave of City attack in a particularly one-sided opening 45-minutes in which Zack Steffen didn’t...
