Uganda’s film industry under their umbrella body, Pearlwood has renewed optimistim in the profitability of the industry following a partnership with leading telecom MTN Uganda which will cut the former’s marketing costs by 60 per cent.
Recently, MTN Uganda in partnership with Albayan Media Limited, the platform provider through the YOTV mobile app and the Association of Core Film Producers Uganda Limited trading as Pearlwood launched Kibanda Xpress, a channel housing local Ugandan movies.
The partnership is expected to boost consumption of local content and in turn revenues of film makers since Kibanda Xpress through Yo Tv has vast reach in different parts of the country.

The President said his Administration will do all in its power to eliminate all non-tariff barriers for Tanzanian investors coming to do business in Kenya.

The Ramadan with MTN project started with an Iftar dinner at Hotel Africana and thereafter, food alms were delivered to the Kibuli and Old Kampala mosques before rolling out to the various muslim communities around the country. Kampala,Uganda:Patients in need of blood are receiving quicker treatment following an MTN Uganda donation of the automated blood component extractor to Uganda Blood Transfusion services (UBTS) which mines components faster.
Prior to the donation, UBTS used manual methods of blood component extraction which took about 30 minutes to extract samples from about ten samples compared to the one minute using the automated machine.
