His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday visited Aspen Pharmacare, the South African-based subsidiary of Aspen, the multinational pharmaceutical company that manufactures and distributes the Johnson and Johnson Covid-19 vaccine.

The President’s visit to the pharmaceutical company comes in the wake of Kenya’s preparations to start local production of Covid-19 and other vaccines. It also follows an offer by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to donate 100,000 doses of Johnson and Johnson Covid-19 vaccine to Kenya boost the country’s vaccination campaign.
