The Directorate of Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) is actively investigating circumstances of aggravated torture in two separate videos which went viral over the weekend involving a woman being burnt and a Chinese investor battering male workers.
In the first video, a vulnerable woman dressed in a blue blouse and black skirt/short is subjected to torture where she is forcefully curved in an awkward position, her hands and legs tied and her body burnt with hot melting droplets from a burning plastic jerrycan.
In the second video, two male workers are confined in a container and subjected to physical and mental torture- including physical beatings with a belt, kicking and hitting.
“As a result, the CID have already opened an enquiry into the terrible images and disturbing crime and do call upon the victims to come forward and help our detectives explore the torture in great detail. We shall not stop until the alleged perpetrators are identified and brought to justice,” SCF Enanga said while addressing journalists on Monday.
