“On Tueday morning, I chaired a joint security meeting in regard to the alleged abductions of some Ugandans.
The meeting was attended by the government team led by the Prime minister Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja and the Opposition side led by the Leader of Opposition Hon. Mathias Mpuuga.
I would like to assure Ugandans that all efforts are being made to solve this issue amicably and a report of our discussion will be tabled on Thursday this week,” Rt Hon. Thomas Tayebwa.

Prime Mnister Robinah Nabbanja observed that that some of the supporters of the National Unity Platform who were abducted by security agencies are hardcore criminals who were tried in courts of law.
This followed a meeting that was attended by government side led by prime minister Robina Nabbanja, the attorney General Kiryowa Kiwanuka, Security Minister Jim Muhwezi, state minister for Defence Gen David Muhoozi, government chief whip Hamson Obua, Deputy IGP Geoffrey Tumusiime Katsigazi,and Brigadier Christopher Ddamulira the Director Crime intelligence.
The the opposition side was led by the leader of opposition in Parliament,the Opposition whip John Baptist’s Nambeshe, shadow minister for internal Afairs Abdallah Kiwanuka, shadow minister for finance Muwanga Kivumbi,JEEMA president Asuman Basalirwa among other.
Speaking to media after the meeting that was mediated by the Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa, the Prime Minister Robina Nabbanja noted that the opposition has not been providing government with the details of those they claim were abducted by security agencies.
Nabbanja confirmed that government has presented five people of these before Courts of law.
However the leader of the opposition in parliament Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba noted that since government has confirmed the arrest of people including the five people arraigned before Court.They are Kaweesa Ivan Ddamulira, Kuteesa Solo, Ssembatya Vincent, Ssengendo Peter Mugabi, and Kato Hussein.He put task to government to account for the rest of the missing NUP Supports.
Mpuuga also revealed that the government has confessed to have committed illegality while arresting and detaining the NUP supporters.
