His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubajje, the Mufti of Uganda has reminded Muslims to live righteously knowing that they are departing the earthly life at any moment. .
He said this at the funeral of the late Hajjat Sophia Nakabuye, the Sister to Haj Yusuf Mpoza, a Special Envoy from the Office the Mufti to the Great Britain  and currently stationed in London. The late Nakabuye was buried at her ancestral home in Nakabiso Village in Nakirebe County in Mpigi Town Council on Jan 6th 2023.
Speaking to the mourners at the burial, Sheikh Mubaje noted that death is inevitable to humanity irrespective of one’s age, status and level of education. He cited the Holy Quran Chapter 2: 156 that says “Be sure We   ( Allah) to test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss as in goods, or lives or the fruits of your toil but give glad tidings to those who patiently preserve who say when afflicted with calamities, to Allah we belong and onto Him is our return.”
Sheikh Mubaje pointed out that he had put aside all official programs to attend the burial because his envoy  is far away on official duties. He urged the congregants to take seriously the message delivered by Sheikh Abas Battira Junior, the Son of the Late Sheikh Abas Battira, the former Kadhi of Greater Mpigi District, in which he asked them to write their wills in their lifetime.
The Mufti expressed gratitude to the Muslim population for having participated in the recently held UMSC National elections. “We expect elected Muslim leaders to work hard,” he said.
