I have been enumerated at my country home- Kinena A cell ,Kakumiro town council ,Kakumiro district in the ongoing National housing and population census that started last night. It is a wonderful digital experience. This is not just a count but a critical tool for development and democracy.
I therefore call upon all Ugandans to embrace the exercise for effective planning and resource allocation. Let us all participate actively ,encourage families, friends and neighbours to do the same and ensure we provide accurate information to the enumerators during the 10 days exercise. The census figures play a critical role in guiding planning, policy formulation, and programme implementation as well as monitoring development progress in line with the national goals and objectives. The census exercise will use digital technology to collect, process and disseminate census results.
The digital census will enable the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) to produce accurate and timely demographic, social and economic statistics. Stand up and be counted Wishing you a successful exercise.
