Kampala, (UG):- Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club (URA FC) has terminated by mutual consent the contract of Head Coach David Obua, just five months into his one-year contract.

The club issued a statement on Friday morning, confirming the decision which also includes the dismissal of first assistant coach Peter Byaruhanga Adyeri and fitness coach Kawa.

“After careful consideration and mutual agreement, URA FC and Head Coach David Obua have decided to part ways, terminating his one-year contract five months into his tenure,” the statement read.

Replacing Obua as caretaker coach is Robert Mukasa, who will lead the team for the remainder of the season. Mukasa will be supported by a team of coaches including Ilic Milosh, Allan Owiny, Robert Ssentongo, and Goalkeeping Coach Swaibu Ssebagala.

“The club expresses gratitude to Coach Obua for his contributions and wishes him the very best in his future endeavours,” the statement concluded.

Obua, a former player with a wealth of experience, took charge of URA FC in November 2023. During his tenure, the team participated in 20 matches across various competitions, securing 8 wins, 8 losses, and 4 draws.

The abrupt departure of Obua marks a significant shake-up for URA FC, leaving fans and football pundits speculating about the reasons behind the decision and the impact it will have on the team’s performance for the rest of the season.
