FUFA has issued communication scheduling the first CAF A coaching course under the new CAF Coaching Convention that was inaugurated in 2019. The CAF A Coaching course will run in the space of June to November 2024 but will be delivered in a period of four (4) full months.
FUFA last organised a CAF A coaching course in 2016 when CAF took a break to assess the technical and educational curriculum of all its courses at all levels.
The CAF Coaching Convention is a handbook of rules and guidelines that sets standards for the organisation of continental coaching Diplomas C, B, A and Pro-Diploma inclusive of detailed guide on curriculum and structure of each course.
We are pleased CAF A coaching course will happen starting this year in June, it has been long since 2016 but we have to fulfill CAF requirements especially our due diligence in accordance with the CAF Coaching Convention. We than CAF Football Development Division especially Mr. Raul Chipenda the Director and his team for regular support and supervision.

Since 2019 and under the new CAF Coaching convention, FUFA has been able to organise fourteen (14) CAF C Diploma courses and three (3) CAF B Diploma Courses.
The period 2020/2021 did not see any course organized due to COVID 19 Pandemic lockdown.
CAF A Diploma is the second highest in CAF ranks and the award grants a coach privilege to coach in any club in CAF Inter-club competitions inclusive of CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.
In FUFA, the club licensing requirement for CAF A holder s to manage clubs in the Uganda Premier League was granted a grace period until the 2024/2025 season and when the course is organised for the participants.
The participants for the 2024 CAF A Coaching Course will under go a pre-selection process. The aims of this timely process are;
1-To screen and select suitable candidates who will participate in scheduled pioneer CAF A Coaching course to be organized by FUFA under the new convention.
2-Also, to give ample time for potential participants to prepare and align the resources including time, finance and own logistics
The course will cover 240 hours. It has been designed into 3 broad modules with 6 learning blocks plus a final 7th block of course examinations. The 7 face-to-face blocks shall be fully residential at FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.
Application fees and pre-entry examination
FUFA has set a fee for pre-entry application and assessment, which shall involve exam for potential candidates to 200,000UGX for each Ugandan applicant and 100$ for each of the foreign applicant with a minimum of 5 slots for foreign applicants.
Meanwhile, course fees that may be paid in 3 instalments in accordance to pre-entry guidelines has been set as follows and shall be payable to FUFA bank account communicated in the FUFA circular.
