Khalid Aucho and Gift Fred’s Young Africans SC has been nominated to the final CAF Club of the Year list in the forthcoming 2023 CAF Awards.
The East African powerhouse must fend off opposition from African Football League champions and Dennis Onyango’s Mamelodi Sundowns.
They also made the 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup final before narrowly losing to USM Alger by Away goals rule, having tied 2-2 after two legs.
On the other hand, Mamelodi Sundowns, who are the slight favourites, are the reigning African Football League and Premier Soccer League champions.

Meanwhile, Al Ahly, the other strong contenders, are the standing champions for the Egyptian Premier League and the CAF Champions League.

The 2023 CAF Awards are slated to be graced by the creme de la creme of African Football on December 11 in Marrakech, Morocco.
