The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Esq. JM Okoth Ochola alongside ten distinguished officers have been honored today, Monday, 9, October, 2023, during the 61st Independence Day celebrations in Kitgum District.
IGP Ochola received the Exemplary Service Order 1st Class medal from the President of the Republic of Uganda, His Excellence Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
He was rewarded for his outstanding leadership, community engagement, pacification efforts, transforming the image of the Uganda Police Force, and unwavering support to its mission.
Additionally, ten other officers were recognized for their exceptional contributions including;
– AIGP Damulira Christopher, the director Crime Inteligence and AIGP Ochaya James, Director of Research Planning and Development at Uganda Police. These were awarded the Exemplary Service Order 2nd Class for their exemplary service in their tenure.
– Former AIGP (RTD) Balimoyo Moses received the Centenary Medal.
– AIGP Kitesa Elizabeth was honored with the Distinguished Service Medal, while AIGP Twaruhukwa Erasmus was recognized for long service with good conduct.
– CP Kyasiimire Diana Bugondo was presented with the Silver Medal.
– SSP Tumwebaze Doreen earned the Meritorious Service Medal.
– ASP Kwarisiima Hilda was awarded the Gallantry Star Medal.
– Corporal Mulabanaku Siragi received the Personal Sacrifice Medal.
– Miss Ndagano Rose Laticia was bestowed with the Honorary Medal, acknowledging her significant contributions.
