Kampala Uganda: The High court sitting in Kampala and presided over by Justice Musa Sekana has dismissed an application filed by Forum for Democratic Change Chairman Ambassador Wasswa Birigwa and 27 others seeking to stop the convening of the Party Delegates Conference scheduled for today.

Justice Ssekana ruled that, the petitioners failed to satisfy merit for grant of temporary injuction against the respondent Toterebuka Bamwenda from inviting the FDC delegates to attend the confernce.

Justice Ssekana said that the application by Wasswa Birigwa and others failed on the preliminary considerations where an individual was named as a respondent instead of the party.

The applicants had sought the court injuction restraining the respondent, his agents, servants or employees holding the position of the Chairman of the FDC Electoral Commission to hold the delegates Conference.

The dismissal of this Civil case number 387 of 2023, paves the way for Forum for Democratic Change Najjanankumbi faction headed by Eng Patrick Amuriat Oboi to go ahead with the delegates Conference scheduled for today.
