JINJA, (UG): The Kyabazinga of Busoga, His Royal Highness William Wilberforce Kadhumbula Gabula Nadiope IV has unveiled Ms Mutesi Jovia as the official queen of the land alias Inhebantu of Busoga ahead of the ninth coronation ceremony at the helm of Busoga Kingdom’s crown.
Inhebantu of Busoga is the title given to the queen consort to the ruler of the Kingdom of Busoga – the Kyabazinga of Busoga in Uganda. The most recent Inhebantu before Ms Mutesi was Alice Muloki, who died on November 6, 2005.
The official unveiling of Ms Mutesi as the new Busoga Queen was today (Thursday) afternoon done by the Kingdom’s Prime Minister, Dr Joseph Muvawala Nsekere in a colourful presser held at the Kingdom headquarters in Bugembe, Jinja District.
Speaking at the official unveiling, Dr Muvawala said it was such a momentous day for the people of Busoga all over the world to officially announce the Inhebantu (Ms Mutesi Jovia) from ‘Baise Menha’ clan which originates from Bugweri district.
“Am delighted to convey regards from the Isebantu Kyabazinga of Busoga His Majesty William Wilberforce Nadiope Kadhumbula Gabula IV. It’s a momentous day for the people of Busoga all over the world as I announce that we have got Her Royal Highness the Inhebantu of Busoga following the just concluded traditional ceremonies earlier in the day that were successfully held,” said Dr Muvawala.
Dr Muvawala said the Kyabazinga, who is now warming for the 9th coronation ceremony (on September 13th) will be presenting his dear wife to Christ Cathedral Bugembe-Jinja on November 18, this year for the celebration of holy matrimony and unveil her to the people of Busoga and the entire world at large.
“With the traditional ceremonies now out of the way, arrangements are underway for the Isebantu to present his dear wife to Christ Cathedral Bugembe on Saturday 18th November 2023 for the celebrations of holy matrimony and also unveil the Inhebantu to the people of Busoga and the world at large,” the Busoga Premier said in a statement.
Dr. Muvawala further congratulated the Kyabazinga(Isebantu) and Inhebantu on behalf of Busoga and the surrounding areas upon the great and memorable decision of having a family which is synonymous with the Kisoga culture saying it’s a reflection of how cultured the King and the queen are.
“This is a true reflection of how cultured the King and the queen are. As a person just like other Busoga adherents of the Kingdom, I am satisfied the Busoga’s missing link has finally been found and I can confirm with certainty that more blessings await us ahead,” Dr Muvawala said in a statement before thanking the parents on both sides for the ministry of raising the children.
He also appreciated the team that worked behind the scenes to deliver as required including the entourage he moved with and also appealed to the people of Busoga all over the world to keep both the Isebantu and the Inhebantu into prayers for God to bless the union which Busoga has been longing for.
“I appeal to the Basoga all over the world to keep both the Isebantu and the Inhebantu into your daily prayers for God/Allah to bless this new union that Busoga has been longing for and above all, to continue superintending over our institution.”
DailyExpress has exclusively learnt that the Inhebantu (Mutesi Jovia) is a born of Mayuge district from the family of RDC Stanley Bayoole and the traditional ceremonies which attracted a number of big wings happened earlier today before the official announcement in Bugembe.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Dr. Joseph Muvawala through his X (formerly Twitter) account promised the public to relay historical news from Busoga Kingdom at 4 pm in Bugembe.
The Inhebantu’sunveiling comes just days to the 9th coronation anniversary of the Kyabazinga which is scheduled for Wednesday, September 13, this year at Namungalwe Ssaza headquarters in Kigulu Chiefdom (Iganga).
Meanwhile, on Saturday, September 9, this year, the Kyabazinga will also be celebrating Gabula Day in his Budhumbuli palace (Kamuli), to commemorate the day when he was appointed Gabula of Bugabula BB which drew him close to the royals from whom they choose the Kyabazinga.
