The much anticipated Rotary Cancer Run returned on Sunday for  its 12th edition this year. It took place  on the 27th of August 2023, under the theme, “Run for Hope”. This year’s edition  focussed on three aspects: increasing cancer awareness, promoting increased access to cancer treatment, and encouraging early cancer detection through medical camps that will be conducted nationwide. The main event was in Kampala at Kololo Ceremonial grounds. The race aims to raise 2bn shillings as the fight against Cancer is taken to Nsambya hospital to complete the bunker at the cancer ward. In Lira, various Rotary members took part and raised 6m shillings to contribute to the larger pool.
