The inaugural FUFA Tv Cup finally kicked off on Saturday 10th June 2023 with two fixtures on card.
The first encounter from group A witnessed Makerere College School take on Mengo Senior School at Makerere Main ground in the morning which ended 4-1 in favour of the visitors.
In a match graced by the FUFA President Hon. Magogo Moses Hassim, FUFA Executive Committee Member and chairman organising committee of the tournament Dr. Apollo Ahimbisibwe, former Uganda Cranes midfielders Hassan Wasswa and Tony Mawejje, national team’s manager Patrick Ntege, amongst others, the Pelicans took the lead in the 8th minute through Brian Mukulu to send the home fans and students into while celebrations.
Ambrose Adea then levelled matters for the visitors capitalising on a lapse in the home team defence.
The home side backline continued being exposed as they conceded two more goals before the end of the first half through Ukasha Ssentamu (34) and John Senfuma (40) to ended Mengo Senior School goes into recess in a 3-1 lead.
In the second half, Makerere College School came back a changed side as they tried creating more chances but couldn’t go past the resilient and determined Mengo defence.
With one minute to the half hour mark, Senfuma completed his brace to go ahead of the leading scorer’s chart.
Victory for Mengo means they are now on top of group A.

Else where from group B, home side Kiira College Butiki also came from a goal down to defeat Namilyango College 2-1.
Mathias Erima broke the deadlock for the visitors in the 17th minute and this was the only goal in the first half.
Ten minutes into the second half, Ernest Olukor levelled matters to send the passionate and excited home students and teachers in crazy celebrations.
The the game seemed to be destined for a draw, Ernest Olukor won it in stoppage for the home side to ensure they start on a winning note and also go top of group B.

More action continues tomorrow (Sunday 11th June 2023) as St Mary’s College Kisubi and King’s College Budo lock horns in what will is dubbed the ‘FUFA Tv Blockbuster schools derby’ in Kisubi at 4pm.
The Busoga region schools clash will see Busoga College Mwiri hosting Jinja College in Mwiri at 10am with both games televised live on FUFA TV.
The return leg matches will be played between 14th -17th June.
The Semifinals also to be played on a home and away basis will be held on 21st June 2023 (1st leg) and 25th June 2023 (return leg).
The final to be played over match will be held on 1st July 2023.
