The Director of Public Prosecutions, Jane Frances Abodo has today visited the Office of the Resident State Attorney (RSA)-Hoima which had been broken into in the wee hours of Thursday 29th December 2022.
The thugs who gained access into the RSA’s office through the window, collected most of the police files, computers and other materials and set them on fire in the RCSA’s office
In her visit today, the DPP convened and chaired a Stakeholders meeting which was attended by; the Regional Officer- Masindi Asst. DPP Florence Akello, the Accounting Officer/ Undersecretary Ms. Agnes Kainza and the top security chiefs in Hoima to wit; Resident City Commissioner, Resident District Commissioner, Regional CID at the Albertine region and the OC-CID of Hoima Central Police Station among others.
The meeting resolved and agreed as follows:
1. That a committee be set up to prepare a detailed report on the cause of the incident.
2. That, there will be a follow up meeting to deliberate on the report and forge away forward.
3. That the Police should continue with deployment to provide security at the premises.
4. That, the RCSA of Hoima Ms. Rachel Namazzi be recalled from leave to resume her duties with immediate effect.
