Kenya’s Chepkoech, who dominated the race, running side by side with Chemutai till the final lap and the nasty fall, clinched second gold for Kenya smashing the Commonwealth Games Record of 9:15.68 previously held by Uganda’s Dorcus Inzikuru.
Elizabeth Bird posted 9:17.79 while Chemutai earned bronze, clocking 9:23.24.
The medal is Uganda’s fourth at the games.
