Kwara United, on the other hand, came back strongly after the break, with goals from Samad Kadiri and Jide Fatokun for the Ilorin team.
Following the setback, Festus and his colleagues squandered an opportunity to take a seven-point lead over Plateau United.
Festus, on the other hand, is adamant that his team is unfazed by the loss and is ready to go on.
“We are still in a good position on the table and we can’t dwell too much on what happened in Ilorin.
“The good thing for us is that Plateau United didn’t win either.
“The next game is our target now. Hopefully, we will win and improve on our advantage.
“Our target is to win the league this season.
“We have work so hard to get to this stage and we are still in a good position to achieve our objective,”Festus stated.
On Sunday, River United will play in the NPFL at Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
