Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr has revealed that Odion Ighalo would play against Cape Verde on Tuesday’s final Group C World Cup qualifier in Lagos.
Ighalo was recalled from retirement by Rohr but was not on the bench in Saturday’s 2-0 victory against Liberia.
The former Manchester United forward arrived late to camp according to Rohr and that was why he was not part of the squad that played the Lone Stars of Liberia.
Rohr while speaking after the 2-0 win against Liberia said the would unleash the 2019 Africa Nations Cup highest goalscorer against Liberia.
“He only arrived on Thursday, that is why he could not participate in this match.
“But I hope the next match, he will be able to help us much more.”
The Super Eagles arrived back from Morocco on Sunday
Nigeria needs a draw to progress to the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup playoff ticket as they currently top Group C with 12 points.
