Three men in Uganda have been arrested for allegedly grabbing a parcel of land belonging to President Yoweri Museveni. Peter Segane, Jimmy Suuna and Avola Kennedy were arraigned after investigations linked them to illegal acquisition of five title deeds that had already been registered in Museveni's name. The Head of State House Anti Corruption Unit Edith Nakalema said that they identified inconsistencies and various lapses in the manner in which the deeds were processed. "We identified several lapses in the processing of the titles at the levels of the Area Land Committee, District Land Board and Ministry of Lands. KAMPALA – President Yoweri Museveni has renewed the tenures of the members of the General Court Martial under the leadership of Lt Gen Andrew Gutti. Business at the Makindye-based Court Martial had come to a standstill following the expiry of the contracts of the court members. The one year contract of the court officers expired on June 9th, 2020. But in a letter dated June 24, 2020, the President renewed the tenures of all court martial members. “I hereby require the General Court Martial to convene and exercise its jurisdiction as under sub section 2 of section 197 of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces Act,” Mr Museveni letter reads in part. UGANDA: President Museveni reassigns Lt.Gen.Gutti as army court boss.

President Yoweri Museveni, who is also the commander in chief of the armed forces has reappointed Lt.Gen.Andrew Gutti as the General Court Martial chairman. “I hereby require the General Court Martial to convene and exercise its jurisdiction as under sub section 2 of section 197 of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces Act,” Museveni’s June,24, 2020 letter reads in part. The State House anti-corruption unit headed by Lt.Col.Edith Nakalema has arrested two men for allegedly grabbing and encroaching on President Yoweri Museveni’s land. According to Nakalema, the private land in question is located at Katwekambwa in Kabulasoke sub-county, Gomba district which had been encroached on by Peter Segane and Jimmy Suuna. “Working with the police, investigations were initiated and the suspects were arrested,” Nakalema said. President Yoweri Museveni has contributed Shs.80 million to the needy students’ scheme at the Mukono-based Uganda Christian University (UCU) so as to support students in that institution who cannot manage to meet their education requirements. Uganda Christian University has, therefore, staged a marathon race as part of a fundraising drive towards the needy students’ scheme at which the Parliamentary Speaker, Rt. Hon.
