MTN Grand Tee of Tees 2024 Year-End Tournament Marks Opening of the MTN Pod
- MTN Uganda hosted the Grand Tee of Tees 2024, the season ender of the MTN Monthly Tees played at Entebbe Club.
- The day kicked off with play amongst over 250 golfers and was later followed by the official unveiling of the MTN Pod – a beautifully crafted halfway house constructed by MTN Uganda for the club.
- Winners of various categories, including Order of Merit champions Saidi Kirarira and Jovia Tugume, were recognized for their exceptional performances throughout the year.
- The MTN Grand Tee of Tees memorably brought down the curtain on yet another year of a strong partnership between MTN Uganda and the membership of Entebbe Club. Together with other partners including CFAO, Castle Lite, this partnership continues to demonstrate what can be achieved through the power of collaboration.
Saturday 14th December 2024 – Entebbe, Uganda: MTN Uganda proudly hosted the highly anticipated Grand Tee of Tees at the Entebbe Club, bringing together over 250 golfers to celebrate a year of golfing excellence and community collaboration. The event also marked a milestone with the official opening of the MTN Pod, a beautifully crafted halfway house constructed by MTN Uganda to enhance the golfing experience of players at the Entebbe course.
MTN Uganda CEO Sylvia Mulinge officially unveiled the MTN Pod at the 9th hole during the event. The MTN Pod, constructed by MTN Uganda, provides golfers with a modern and comfortable space to rest and recharge during rounds of play.
“Today, we are proud to celebrate our contribution to this exceptional club through the construction of the Halfway House that has been fully funded by MTN Uganda. This facility not only enhances the playing experience but also serves as a symbol of what we can achieve when we work together,” remarked Ms. Mulinge during the handover.
The Entebbe Club Captain, Serwano Walusimbi, expressed gratitude for the contribution, saying, “We are really grateful to MTN for constructing the MTN Pod for the club. It is a gift of beauty that I’m sure members of the club today and those to come will appreciate eternally. The MTN Pod immortalizes the enduring partnership between MTN and the golf community, particularly those that fellowship at Entebbe.”
The Grand Tee of Tees showcased exceptional talent and sportsmanship, culminating in victories that reflected the dedication and skill of participants.
The Grand Tee of Tees highlighted MTN Uganda’s commitment to fostering community growth through strategic partnerships. In addition to constructing the MTN Pod, MTN’s sponsorship of the MTN Monthly Tee and the renovation of the clubhouse, underscores the value the company places on its customers, by investing in initiatives that they are passionate about. “MTN’s support is a tribute to the game of golf and to the people that have directly or indirectly supported the MTN brand over so many years”, concluded Ms. Mulinge.
The Grand Tee of Tees finale was supported by other esteemed partners, including MTN MoMo, CFAO Mobility, Castle Lite, and Willis Towers Watson (WTW), whose collaboration ensured a memorable experience for all attendees.
