ENTEBBE  — Uganda Airlines is celebrating its second anniversary of the resumption of commercial flights after nearly 17 years of absence.

With four CRJ900 aircrafts the airline hit the skies again on August 28, 2019 with a first commercial flight to Nairobi, Kenya, and later expanded its route network to Juba (South Sudan), Mogadishu (Somalia), Dar-es-Salaam, Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar in Tanzania, Mombasa (Kenya) and Bujumbura in Burundi.

This week, the airline dusted off Airbus A330neo planes—taking to the skies above Africa —strengthening its status as the country’s national carrier.

The country’s aviation regulator, Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) early this month cleared Uganda Airlines long-range operations with non-stop intercontinental flights to the Middle East, Europe and Asia.

The airline on Friday August 27 treated its clients enroute to Juba and Nairobi to a Airbus experience. UG Standard Marketing Director Lubega Mudasilu Kyewalyanga was part of the journey to Juba,South Sudan capital.
