Manchester United interim Van Nistelrooy has spoke with Ten Hag: ‘The situation affected him’
Voetbal International has reported that Erik ten Hag has been affected by his dismissal from Manchester United. According to his assistant coach, and current Red Devils interim, Ruud van Nistelrooy, the two had a conversation after the former Twente and Ajax boss’ departure.
“I saw him here on Monday and spoke to him yesterday (Wednesday, before the match against Leicester City) before the match. In the first conversation we had, before my return, I really felt that the situation affected him and that he wanted to help this club forward, that’s why we clicked. It hurt that he had to leave.”
A conversation was also held with club icon Sir Alex Ferguson, United’s most successful manager of all time. Van Nistelrooy continued:
“Yes, I spoke to him. He wished me luck. We spoke briefly about my situation, briefly about the team and most importantly he wished me luck before the game. It’s always nice to talk to him.”
Van Nistelrooy is doing the job temporarily, as Manchester United deals with the imminent appointment of Sporting coach Ruben Amorim.
