Three Arrested in Connection with Murder of Petrol Station Manager on Northern Bypass
Police have arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of Agnes Nantongo, a manager at Bweyogerere’s Africa Oil Petrol Station, who was killed along the northern bypass.
Nantongo, a 30-year-old resident of Matugga, was found dead last weekend. She was reportedly struck by a brick thrown by unknown individuals, who then stole her phone and other belongings as she made her way home from work.
CCTV footage retrieved by the Naguru Camera Command Center does not capture the area where her body was discovered or anyone trailing her, making it difficult to identify suspects initially. Despite this, three arrests have been made as investigations continue.
At her burial in Kasengejje, Wakiso District, Wycliffe Kagina, the Operations Manager at Africa Oil Petrol Station, confirmed that they are cooperating with security agencies to seek justice for their former employee.
Murder cases along the northern bypass have been rising, with criminals targeting both motorists and pedestrians in certain blind spots. In response, police have urged local communities to remain vigilant and assist in monitoring the area to help combat the escalating crime.
