Children’s Delphic Games of CIS member states kick off in Bishkek

The opening of the Children’s Delphic Games of the CIS member states was held at the Kyrgyz National Philharmonic named after Toktogul Satylganov on October 1.

Commissioner for Children’s Rights of Kyrgyzstan Asel Chynbaeva read an address on behalf of President Sadyr Japarov to the guests and participants of the event.

“Today, cultural ties between peoples are becoming increasingly important, and such events help strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between countries and peoples,” the President said.

Mayor of Bishkek Aibek Dzhunushaliev expressed gratitude to the International Delphic Committee and wished the participants good luck and inspiration.

“The first Children’s Delphic Games of the Commonwealth of Independent States kicked off in our capital, bringing together more than 500 creative children,” the mayor noted.

The games include both a competitive and a festival program, each of which covers a wide range of activities.

The competition program includes playing piano, violin, classical guitar, fine arts, pop singing, folk dance and DJ skills. The festival program consists of playing folk instruments, performing arts and crafts and singing in sign language.

The Delphic Games will be held until October 5.
