Belarus unveils new low-cost precision missile ‘Ascalon’
Belarus has introduced a new air-breathing precision munition named “Ascalon,” according to local media reports.
The “Ascalon” missile is designed with a turbojet engine that allows it to reach speeds of up to 700 km/h.
The missile has a practical flight range of 310 kilometers, and its total flight time is approximately 60 minutes. This low-cost munition is notable for its ease of production and affordability, giving Belarus the ability to rapidly expand its precision strike capabilities.
The creation of the “Ascalon” represents an important step for Belarus in terms of independent military development. The missile’s simplicity and low-cost production suggest it could be produced and deployed in greater numbers compared to more complex systems.
