- Sancho rediscovering his form at Chelsea
- Has been crucial to Enzo Maresca’s plans
- Bagged his second assist in as many games
WHAT HAPPENED?
Sancho continues to be in the thick of things at Chelsea as Enzo Maresca gradually steadies the Blues after a frustrating season under Mauricio Pochettino. Despite having several options in the wide areas, the Italian manager pushed for Sancho and the English winger hasn’t disappointed him so far.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Sancho came off the bench against Bournemouth to set up Christopher Nkunku’s late winner last Saturday at Vitality Stadium on his debut. And a week later, he took just four minutes to release Nicolas Jackson down the left flank to have a run at goal. The striker burnt his pace and scored between the legs of Alphonse Areola to put the Blues in front.
DID YOU KNOW?
It was Sancho’s second assist in two games and has already overtaken the tally he managed at United over 12 Premier League appearances. This was also the first time that Sancho assisted in successive Premier League games in his career.
WHAT NEXT FOR SANCHO?
Sancho is gradually reviving his career at Chelsea and after setting up his teammates, the winger would like to find the net himself. The Blues host Barrow next in an EFL Cup third-round fixture and the 24-year-old would fancy his chances.
