Malaysian Consulate Warns Travellers To Stay Cautious Due To Bad Weather In Thailand

SONGKHLA, 19 Sept (Bernama) — The Malaysian Consulate in Southern Thailand has urged Malaysian travellers to remain vigilant about the potential effects of the unpredictable weather conditions in the country.

The Malaysian Consul General in Songkhla, Ahmad Fahmi Ahmad Sarkawi, told Bernama that Malaysians have been advised to be cautious if planning to travel to Thailand during this period.

“This is a reminder for any Malaysian travellers who wish to visit Thailand at this time, as the weather is very adverse, not only in southern Thailand but also in northern Thailand,” he said on Thursday.

“The weather in Thailand is currently quite severe with strong winds, heavy rain, and high waves, especially in island areas like Phuket. Those who plan to drive or travel by air are advised to take precautionary measures and be careful when visiting coastal areas or islands,” he added.

Ahmad Fahmi also advised everyone to avoid travelling to coastal areas or islands due to warnings about strong winds issued by the Thai government.
