Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho ran riot for Manchester United as they humiliated a sorry Barnsley side 7-0 in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
The home team started the game a little slowly before a moment of magic from Rashford gave them a 16th-minute lead. Antony then drew a foul in the penalty area before the Brazilian converted the subsequent spot-kick 10 minutes from half-time.
The game was effectively over in first-half stoppage-time when Garnacho toe-poked the ball past Barnsley goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina, and the Argentine winger made it 4-0 four minutes after the interval from a rapid attack before Rashford grabbed his second just before the hour mark with a smart finish.
Christian Eriksen heaped more misery on the visitors with a quickfire double late on as Erik ten Hag’s side marched into the fourth round.

Was a virtual spectator on the night – apart from early Barnsley attacks – on what was a rare start for the Turkish goalkeeper.

The versatile Portugal defender covered a lot of ground on the night, but didn’t really need to get out of third gear.

Other than a couple of aerial balls down field, the England man was barely tested – but stood strong nonetheless.

The veteran won’t have many easier nights than this one in the rest of his career, but was solid enough.
Toby Collyer (7/10):
Wasn’t entirely comfortable early on in an unfamiliar left-back role, but looks confident on the ball.

Despite coming up against weaker opposition, the 32-year-old did not exactly outclass the League One team’s midfield.
Manuel Ugarte (7/10):
Got stuck into the action on his full United debut, but actually lost a fair amount of his duels against the Yorkshire outfit.
Christian Eriksen (8/10):
Some of his passes were a bit wayward, especially when United were presented with good attacking opportunities early on. However, he improved a great deal as the game wore on and bagged a brace of goals and an assist in the second half.

Was in need of a confidence-boosting performance and he somewhat got it as he won and converted his own penalty. Still needs to show more to get more first-team minutes.
Alejandro Garnacho (9/10):
The Argentinian is full of confidence and took his goals in clinical fashion. There is a swagger about him right now.
Marcus Rashford (9/10):
Showed he can still be a force to be reckoned with as he scored a sublime solo goal. Capped off a very encouraging performance with a second goal as he highlighted his pace and danger in front of goal. It may be too early to say he is back to his best, but these are real shoots of optimism.
