VLADIVOSTOK, Sept 10 (Bernama-Sputnik) — Vietnam is interested in seeing more investments from Russian high-tech companies into the Southeast Asian economy, Bo Linh Le, a member of the Central Theoretical Council of the Vietnamese Communist Party’s Central Committee, has told Sputnik.

“I hope that in the coming time, more Russian high-tech companies will invest in Vietnam. Vietnam always creates all conditions for the investment environment and legal corridors for foreign enterprises, including Russian enterprises, to have a favourable business and investment environment in the Vietnamese market,” the official said during the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivostok.

Vietnam prioritises attracting foreign investment in such advanced areas as high technology, innovation, and research and development, which makes a positive contribution to the sustainable development of the Vietnamese economy, Bo Linh Le said.

“Priority high-tech fields include renewable energy, clean energy, digital technology industry, high technology applied in agriculture, healthcare, environmental technology, smart transportation, etc. Currently, the Russian Federation has 186 projects in Vietnam,” the official said, adding that high-tech projects were few.
