NAMIREMBE 5th September 2024: Church of Uganda Higher Education Leaders Association (COUHELA) Symposium has entered Day 2 this morning at the Provincial Secretariat in Namirembe, chaired by the Chairman, Prof. Aaron Mushengyezi, the Vice Chancellor of Uganda Christian University.
The Symposium began with a Holy Communion Service led by Rev Andrew Agaba, the Director of Church of Uganda’s Directorate of Household and Community Transformation, assisted by Rev Richard Rukundo, the coordinator for Children’s Ministry.
Rev Canon Dr. Alex Kangume, the Deputy Executive Director of the National Council for Higher Education will deliver a Keynote Address on “Sustainability: Our Collective Responsibility for Higher Institutions of Learning”.
Later, there will be a presentation of a brief report on the Church of Uganda Inter-University Joint Publication (Research Agenda) and an overview of the MOU for COUHELA’s Endowment Project, presented by APA and Uganda Christian University.
There will also be an engagement with Prof Mary Okwakol, the Executive Director of the National Council for Higher Education and an official closing ceremony by the Minister of science, Technology and Innovation.
