The U.S. Department of State has approved the sale of eight High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) to Croatia, along with associated equipment and support services.
The sale, valued at approximately $390 million, was announced on August 30 by the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA).
The package includes eight M142 HIMARS systems, 24 Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) unitary warheads, and 24 M31A2 rockets. Croatia will also receive ten armored High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs), 36 GPS receivers, and necessary software, simulators, and training for its military personnel.
Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković had previously signaled his country’s intention to acquire American rocket systems earlier this month as part of broader efforts to modernize Croatia’s Armed Forces.
Earlier this year, the U.S. also approved a $500 million sale of Black Hawk helicopters and related equipment to Croatia, further enhancing the military capabilities of the Balkan nation.
