After the plenary sitting in Gulu, the Rt Hon Speaker paid a courtesy call on General Salim Saleh, who has been at the forefront of rehabilitating Northern Uganda through various wealth creation initiatives.

The Speaker commended his tireless efforts to uplift the region and improve the livelihoods of its people. During their discussion, she pledged Parliament’s unwavering support in ensuring that the people of the greater North fully benefit from these initiatives. “Agro-industrialisation, which Gen. Saleh is passionate about, is a great strategy for bringing this part of the country into the money economy and fast-tracking post-war recovery,” she said.

She reaffirmed Parliament’s commitment to collaborating closely with all stakeholders to promote sustainable development and prosperity for all communities in Northern Uganda, Karamoja, and other regions.
