The Australian government has committed $300 million to Boeing to provide premier engineering and technical support for its fleet of 29 Apache helicopters. Announced on August 23, this purchase will see both Boeing and Lockheed Martin fulfilling the order.
“Australia is one of our most crucial allies,” says the DSCA. “Its strategic position as a political and economic power significantly aids in maintaining peace and stability in the Western Pacific.” In 2022, Australia chose the Apache as its future attack helicopter, ensuring a low-risk, fully integrated capability that meshes seamlessly with key allies. The first of these aircraft is expected to be delivered by late 2025.
