8 people have so far been found dead, 6 adults and 2 children in Kiteezi Waste Mass Collapse tragedy.
Authorities in Kampala said Saturday that they were investigating a structural failure in waste mass after a section of the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Landfill in Kiteezi collapsed on houses and livestock in the early morning hours.
KCCA With support from Uganda Police, Ministry of Works and Transport, Ministry for Disaster Preparedness, Red Cross and the community have successfully rescued and evacuated 14 people so far and have been taken to Mulago and St. Steven hospitals.
The rescue operation is still ongoing and we shall share updates as they come in.
