David de Gea is BACK! Former Man Utd goalkeeper finally finds new club as shock transfer is announced

De Gea is back in football after more than a year out of the game. The 33-year-old, who spent 12 years at United, has joined Fiorentina on a one-year deal, with the option for an additional season with the Serie A outfit.

De Gea’s absence was pretty puzzling considering his achievements in the Premier League – although his wage demands appear to explain a lot. Still, not only was he a four-time winner of the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award, he won the Golden Glove in his final season in England. But he’s back now and will feel that he has plenty more years left at a high level.

De Gea made 545 appearances for the Red Devils – more than any other foreign player – and his 190 clean sheets is the most for any United goalkeeper.(C)GettyImages
