Parliament this afternoon congratulated Joshua Cheptegei for his outstanding achievement in winning the gold medal in the 10,000-meter race at the ongoing Olympics in Paris, France.
Parliament on Tuesday afternoon Congratulated Joshua Cheptegei for his outstanding achievement in winning the gold medal in the 10,000-meter race at the ongoing Olympics in Paris, France.
Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa, extended the congratulatory message during plenary sitting, noting that Cheptegei has made the Uganda flag fly high during the Olympic games.
Tayebwa also commended the Minister of Sports and thanked Members of Parliament for their support to the sports sector through adequate funding.
It’s from this Tayebwa appealed to Ugandans to pray for the other athletes still competing in Paris, wishing them success in winning more medals for the country.
In a personal note, Tayebwa expressed gratitude to God for giving him a second chance at life after surviving a plane crash.
Over the weekend Tayebwa survived a plane crush in western Uganda due uncertain mechanical conditions.
