A 31-year-old full-back, Conor came through the youth ranks at Hull City and had loan spells at Grimsby Town, Chesterfield, Carlisle United, Dundee United and Scunthorpe United while on the books with the Humberside club.

He moved to Scunthorpe permanently in January 2016 and scored his first goal for The Iron in a 6-0 win over Swindon Town in March later that year.

Having made a total of 88 appearances for Scunthorpe, Conor joined West Brom in July 2018 and made his debut for the Baggies in a 4-3 success against Norwich City. He played a pivotal role in the 2019/20 season as he featured 27 times in the league and helped the West Midlands side achieve automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Last season he played 46 times across all competitions for West Brom, registering four assists and 12 clean sheets in the league.

Conor, who has penned a two-year deal at Portman Road, told TownTV: “I’m delighted to be here.

“To play in the Premier League again is a big challenge for me and this kind of opportunity doesn’t come around very often so I jumped at the chance.

“The move came around quite quickly and I’m excited to get started. I have had good conversations with the Manager and everyone speaks very highly of him, so I’m looking forward to getting started and working under him.

“I played against Ipswich twice last season and both were very tough games. What the team was able to achieve last season was special, so I’m excited to be a part of it now.”

Conor will join up with his Town teammates in Germany on Thursday afternoon.
