Mothers Union Buganda, have also amongst other activities added visits to health centers most especially those under the church of Uganda Umbrella to see how they can support them especially those in sorry state.

They recently visited Luteete Health Centre Luweero Diocese in Luweero District where they donated different items like delivery beds, uniforms for health workers and other equipment used in the health centers.

The intentions for this are; to make sure when women, children and men get treatment, medical checkups and other health services, go to these health centers, these  facilities are available. We make sure that  we share the little with our partners and friends.”Let’s support these health centers with equipment to help them extend services to the people”, Mothers Union Buganda President Mrs. Kasaato  said. She further highlighted the diseases which disturb families  such as malaria, HIV/AIDS, Cervical cancer, prostate cancer, breast cancer etc.

This is aimed at bringing the  services nearer, and if the working environment is good and the equipment are in place, developing themselves is easier.

This move is spearheaded by Mothers Union Buganda President Mrs. Kasaato assisted by different presidents in the Diocese and the heads of health department in the Diocese.

Mrs. Kasaato thanked Rev. Harriet Lukwago Nakayenga, the head of health department in Luweero Diocese as she listed health centers in Luweero that need support to make sure that all equipment needed to extend services to the people are put in place by the Mothers Union Buganda Mobilization. Nakayenga is still mobilizing for more aid to make sure that health centers under the church of Uganda get support.

Mrs. Kasaato also thanked the President of Mothers Union- Luweero Diocese Mrs. Dinah Ssekabira who informed stated that  women get challenged when they go to the health centers and find that the requirements are not in place. If there is a chance to get the equipment in these health centers to help the people, then the gospel of actions would be preached.

We know that things that disturb pregnant women are; fever and domestic violence of course not forgetting  HIV/AIDS but all in all, when women go to the health centers, they get counselling, medicines, and they get to know how they can be helped. This time we encourage women to always go to the health centers most especially the pregnant ones  for medical checkups to know their health status- Mrs. Kasaato added.

Mrs. Kasaato further noted that this is not only done in Luweero but all other health centers in Buganda region.
