The deal is for a guaranteed €27.6m plus €4m in add-ons and if the 22-year-old can come to contractual agreement with Marseille and joins, his troubled United career will end.

In October 2022 Greenwood was charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He denied all the counts and criminal charges were dropped in February 2023 after key witnesses withdrew their cooperation from the investigation and new material came to light, according to the Crown Prosecution Service.
Greenwood last played for United in January 2022 and has a contract to 2025, with the club having the option to extend for a further year.
He was loaned to Getafe last season, scoring 10 goals in 36 appearances and making six assists. Greenwood has returned to England and is thought to be training in the Manchester area away from the club.
