Uganda’s government unveils new regulations in a bid to improve air Quality

Government of Uganda through its lead  Agency National Environment Management Authority has rolled out new regulations that will guide the public in a bid to improve and safe guard air quality standards in Uganda.

Air pollution,  is the leading environmental risk to human health, with 99% of people worldwide exposed to air pollution levels that exceed the WHO guidelines.
According to World Health Organization data, Air pollution is associated with 6.7 million premature deaths annually.

Speaking at the launch of the regulations at Protea Hotel,the Minister of Water and Environment Beatrice Anywar says government will soon ban the importation of air pollutants like machinery, Motorcycles and motor vehicles.
