Today, accompanied with Phiona Nyamutoro and PS Irene Bateebe, I’ve led the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development officials to a High-level dialogue in Gulu with Acholi representatives to discuss Oil and Gas Devts, Mineral Devt, address concerns in the Energy Sector and foster collaboration for the region’s future.
The Acholi region is rich in resources, so I emphasize the need to harness this potential for inclusive growth, ensuring the region shares in Uganda’s development as the NRM government is committed to open dialogue with the Acholi people.
We’re working hard to stabilize power in the northern region. We’ve completed the Kole substation, and the 600MW Karuma Hydropower Plant is now successfully synchronized to the national grid – a significant step forward for stable power supply in the region.
As the Ministry, we’re committed to open communication. Ask us your energy, oil and gas, and mineral sector questions! Our expert team is here to share updates and provide clear, comprehensive information to avoid unnecessary speculation as and false alarms.
