The Rt Hon Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda, Anita Annet Among welcomes her counterpart,Rt Hon Sooroojdev Phokeer, Speaker of Mauritius at Entebbe International Airport ahead of the Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth wealth (CSPOC)..

At the Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort where the 27th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers (CSPOC2024) will be held, Speaker Bagbin said international collaboration among Parliaments in the world should be based on mutual respect for the different peoples value systems, and not blackmail and intimidation, which he said was worryingly becoming the global trend.

In her remarks, Speaker Anita Among  urged African Parliaments and National Assemblies to unite and work in unison to advance the continent.

Recognising the shared challenges and opportunities that bind African nations, Among highlighted the imperative for Parliaments across the continent to work hand in hand.
