The hosts of the CECAFA U15 Boys Championship 2023 are set to face Zanzibar as the tournament climaxes.
The Rhinos saw off Tanzania in a match that ended 2-1. Abubakali Walusimbe slotted in the Rhino’s first goal in the twelfth minute, and Samuel Muburu added the second in the forty-fourth minute. Tanzania pulled one back through Feisal Juma in the eighty-third minute.
Zanzibar and South Sudan played to a one-all draw in a match that was decided by spot kicks, as goals from Abdulhafidh Salmin (ZAN) and Anur Loboro (SSD) were not sufficient.
Lazarus Peter George Laku and Victor Elizaya missed a penalty each, seeing South Sudan out of contention for a spot in the final. The other goals were scored by Ismail Mansuk and Felix Marial.
Zanzibar slotted all their spot kicks. Saleh Mbarouk, Abdulhafidh Salmin, Mohamed Shaaban, and Mohamed Nassor were on target.
