KCCA launches the Mega Clean-Up Drive

Downtown Kampala* was brought to a standstill this morning as KCCA launched the Mega Clean-Up Drive. The Minister for Kampala, Hajjati Minsa Kabanda flanked by the Executive Director, Dorothy Kisaka, arrived at City square amid ululations from the crowd that had gathered as early as 6am

They later marched down Burton Street, through Luwum Street to Nakasero Market, down to the taxi park chanting praises of their leaders. The Minister said Kampala has launched a cleaning drive, which will spread to all five divisions. ‘Kampala is set to receive the President at Kololo on 8th September, and every street must be cleaned and every drainage dislted. Kisaka saluted the city cleaners and others and said this effort must be continuous. ‘Every neighbourhood must be cleaned because a Smart City is a community effort” said Kisaka
