KAMPALA, UGANDA: The Inspectorate of Government (IG) has this afternoon arrested Mr David Livingstone Ebiru the suspended Executive Director for the Uganda National Bureau of Standards, (UNBS) over corruption-related charges.
The IG in a tweet on Wednesday, July, 26, said that Mr Ebiru who had gone on a run earlier this week will be arraigned and charged before the Anti-Corruption Court.
Ebiru’s arrest comes on the backdrop of an investigation in the misuse of public funds and corruption at UNBS when he appeared before the Committee on Public Accounts – Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE).
Ebiru has since been sent on a six month forced leave, is battling cases of misappropriation of funds, misconduct, and abuse of office.
