Speaker Among has directed the retabling of the Narcotic drugs and psychotropic substance bill which was nullified by the constitutional court last week on grounds of no quorum at the time of passing it by the 9th parliament.

The Speaker of parliament Anita Among has directed the retabling of the Narcotic drugs and psychotropic substance which was nulified by the constitutional court last week on grounds of no quorrum at the time of passing it by the 9th parliament.

The ruling by the speaker Among to reconsider the retabling of the bill by the intial mover who is also Aruu south County MP Christopher Komaketch arose as a matter of national concern by the Rubaga North MP Alosious Mukasa.

Mukasa said that by nulifying the law, this puts the young generation at liberty to consume narcotic drugs and substance freely putting the country at risk of increasing crime rates.

Its from this that speaker Among asked MP Komaketch to retable the Narcotic drugs and psychotropic substance bill next week for reconsideration by parliament.
