The fifth edition of the AIPS Sport Media Awards received 1830 submissions from a record of 138 different nationalities, showing incredible quality, creativity, diversity across the different forms of media.
FIVE VOTING STAGESÂ The longlist represents the first stage of judging. Approximately 20 percent of the works qualify to this stage. Here is a reminder of the five judging stages:
After carefully reviewing all submissions; checking dates, links and files, the Awards judging process began in December, involving a panel of specialists, EC members and Jury members, whose average ratings result in the longlists.
The second voting stage, which is exclusively carried out by the EC members (representing 24 different nations), will narrow down the selected works into a shortlist of candidates.
The third and fourth voting stages are carried out by the Jury – 12 respected members from the sport media industry representing the five continents – as they first select the top 10 and then the top 3.
Finally, one day before the ceremony, which will take place in Seoul on May 9, 2023, a final voting stage takes place and the results remain secret until the announcement.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXTÂ Following this longlist, we will announce the shortlist and subsequently the finalists. The final ceremony of the Awards will take place in Seoul, South Korea on May 9, 2023.
Stay tuned for more information, as we embark on this exciting journey to the prestigious ceremony where the winners will be announced.
