Alejandro Garnacho has agreed personal terms with Manchester United over a new five-year deal at the club.
The 18-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign at Old Trafford, making 25 appearances in all competitions and scoring three times.
The teenager joined United in a £350,000 deal from Atletico Madrid in 2020 and he’s quickly risen though the ranks at the club to become a first-team player.
However, Garnacho’s current deal makes him the lowest paid player in the squad on around £5,000-a-week.
More concerning for United is the fact that Garnacho’s deal has just 18 months to run and he’s attracted attention from Real Madrid and Juventus.
But ESPN report that Garnacho has agreed the outline of a new five-year deal with United and image rights are the only outstanding issue to resolve.
Though Garnacho’s new salary is not specified, it’s said his weekly wage will increase as his involvement with the first team does.
An announcement could be made in the coming weeks to put an end to the speculation over Garnacho’s future.
Once a deal for Garnacho is done and dusted, United will focus their attentions on securing the futures of Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw and Diogo Dalot.
